Happen Chance

Earlier tonight I was supposed to do some senior portraits. Our session was scheduled for 4:15-6:00pm. At 6:00pm I had a dinner appointment in Calabasas I needed to head to. At 4:15 I got a call from my client saying he was on the 210 in Sunland, at 5:00 I got a call saying he was on the I5, and at 5:45 I got call saying he wouldn’t be able to make it. LA traffic strikes again. The good news is I think we will be able to re-schedule for the near future.

In the interim while I was waiting I decided to wander around and find some new fine art textures to use for future images. As I walked outside I noticed this wonderful light right in the spot I was standing and started wishing I had someone to photograph. Just then a young lady pulled into the parking lot and parked. I noticed she was just sitting in her car so I figured she must be early for something and I approached the window and asked if she would like to do some photos. She agreed, I spent maybe 4 minutes with her, and the below images are the result.

Kristin, if you still have my card and are reading this, feel free to send me an email and let me know what you think and if you want the high resolution images. Also, let me know if I spelled your name right.

I love meeting new people and photography them. I do it all the time in the most random places. But as was the case tonight I way too often forget to get their email address so I can send them the photos. =).

These are great! Do you often ask random people if you can take their photos? I love it!

What is the best time of the day to take photos? Do you have a preferred time for light? I would think early evening would be the most ideal, when the sun is low.
