Brian and Josi

Today I had the joy of being a small part of Brian and Josi’s wedding. With Starbucks black coffee in hand I arrived at Brian’s house at 8:30am. My assistant had arrived at Josi’s house a little earlier. I snapped a few shots of Brian putting his tie on, and some of his younger brothers crawling out of bed, and then we were off to meet the bride. There is one image which I will put in the albums of Brian standing at the door of the house where his soon to be wife is getting ready. He is anxiously waiting to be let in after he rang the doorbell. Although the photo I took is of his back standing at the door, if you could have seen the look of anticipation on his face it said it all. This was going to be a great day!

Shortly after we arrived Brian went in the backyard, and Josi came out and came up behind him. This was the first time he had seen her in the dress. I snapped a few photos, but it looked like they were more into each other than the camera right then, so I went back inside and gave them awhile to be alone. The rest of the day was the normal scurry of anticipation and fun most weddings are.

A few highlights for me included, as mentioned before the look on Brian’s face at the door, Brian juggling apples during the vows, the way the couple looked at each other during the first dance, the groomsmen knocking over all the trellis in order to catch the garter, and the bride running around in the grass playing ultimate Frisbee in her wedding dress after most of the guests had left. In the end I think we got some great elegant images, as well as a lot of fun family ones which will do nothing but make you laugh. This wedding was happy, it was homey, it was about God, about their love, and about family. It was a great day!
