Bridal Portraits

Recently I have been exploring some different ideas concerning bridal portraits. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, bridal portraits are a little more common in the South than they are in Southern California. A bridal portrait session is a time for the bride to get some exquisite images at the time when she will be the most beautiful in her life. For me as a photographer a couple’s wedding day is about capturing the wonderful moments their interaction produces. It’s a journalistic coverage of their happiness and everything which surrounds it. Doing bridal portraits at a different time gives us a chance to create images at off site locations without the scurry of a wedding. It gives us the time which is sometimes required to create images a step up from those I can create within the limits of a tight schedule.

Earlier this evening my sweet friend Robyn Buck drove all the way up from Culver City to help me try out some of the ideas which have been floating around in my head for the past few weeks. Robyn was great in being so flexible with all the various prop adjustments for this shoot. I think it was worth the time because we got some images we will both be very happy with.

Keep checking back as I further develop this idea. I will post a number of studio and outdoor sample albums in the near future. Click here to see the rest of this album.
