Tonight Again
Lately I have been thinking a lot about the Gospel and how that applies to our everyday life. I went to Bible Study earlier tonight and although I ussualy sit in the back, the front row was worth it tonight. The singing vibrated through me with a force that I had never felt from the back row. We sang a passage from Psalm 103 which I had memorized a few weeks ago.
1. Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 .Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
3. Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4. Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5. Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Verse 1 says: “All that is within me”…how does my every passion bless the Lord?
Verse 4 says: “Redeems your life from the pit”… I am already in hell other than for God’s grace. This is a staggering thought.
Verse 5 says: “renewed like the eagle” I love MacArthur's explanation of this when he says one blessed by God “will slow down less rapidly”. God will give us all the strength we need to endure if we seek to glorify Him. Life is exciting isn’t it?
And finally, I don’t know if others have this experience but sometimes I am driving on the freeway and see so much color and such fantastic shapes I can’t resist pulling over and capturing them.
