Jennifer Blushi

This morning Jennifer arrived at my studio for some headshots just as I returned from Starbucks. I brought her a caramel macchiato and personally stuck with my traditional black coffee with no cream or sugar. This turned out to be the right choice for me as I spilled it all over my desk shortly after. It’s easier to clean up coffee without all that sticky sugar in it.

There are a lot of times when my preference will be for studio lighting. And we did a few shots with studio lights today. But for headshots, by far, my preference is natural light. And today was perfect for just that. The beauty of natural light is sometimes illusive. But when one is able to capture it images almost vibrate with color.

Jen was a trooper. We started out by doing a good number of shots in my studio, and then hopped on the metro down to Union Station in LA. Union Station has some of the best natural light around and I always love shooting down there. We did a number of shots in the train station and a few at a local park, and then had lunch at one of my favorite hole in the wall Mexican restaurants on Olvera Street. Lunch was followed by a very sleepy train ride back to my studio in Santa Clarita.

It was a good day for shooting, Jennifer did great, and I think we got some images which will perfectly suit their purpose.
